The combination of very low power consumption and instantaneous warm-up make the COZIR carbon dioxide sensors ideal for use in battery powered applications such as hand-held devices and wireless systems where low duty cycle is important to maximise battery life.
The COZIR low power consumption CO2 sensors offer a range of unique benefits compared to conventional NDIR carbon dioxide gas sensors:
-
Low power consumption.
-
Battery operated 3.3 volts.
-
Auto calibration.
-
Compatible with wireless communications.
-
Minimal power-up time.
-
Standard digital output.
The COZIR carbon dioxide sensor is available in two ranges:
-
COZIR ambient with a 0 to 10,000 ppm range suitable for applications such as heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), indoor air quality (IAQ), education and horticulture.
-
COZIR wide range with a 0% to 100% range suitable for process control applications such as diving, industrial, safety and automotive.
COZIR uses 50 times less power
COZIR consumes only 3.5mW in continuous operation, with two carbon dioxide measurements per second, and is typically 50 times lower powered than standard NDIR sensors.
COZIR is a compact CO2 sensor providing easy fitment into handheld portable devices and wall mounted control systems. COZIR Ambient: diameter 43mm, height 15mm. COZIR Wide Range: diameter 18mm, height 20mm.
Production of the COZIR CO2 sensor is housed in a purpose built clean area for assembly, calibration and quality control of sensor product, supported by a dedicated team of production engineers and technicians.
Rigorous quality control is imposed prior to product release to customers. Calibration and testing is implemented on 100% of product with follow-on quality control checks of sensor temperature and CO2 response.
COZIR technology has been developed from Gas Sensing Solutions' patented non-dispersive infra-red (NDIR) configuration, utilising unique mid-infrared light emitting diode source and photodiode detector technology. Please contact us for more information or to order samples.
COZIR warm-up is only 2 seconds
COZIR reaches full accuracy just two seconds after powering up. Extremely low power consumptions can be achieved by powering down the CO2 sensor between measurements. COZIR full specifications
COZIR offers years of battery life
By intermittent powering of the sensor, multiyear operating life is achievable without recharging. The illustration below shows the battery life powering one COZIR CO2 sensor from 3xAA batteries.
